The Honda QC1 features a 1.5 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 80 km. Charging from 0 to 80% takes 4 hours and 30 minutes, while a full charge requires 6 hours and 50 minutes. The QC1 is equipped with an in-wheel electric motor, delivering a maximum power output of 1.8 kW and a torque of 77 Nm, allowing it to reach a top speed of 50 km/h. It offers two riding modes and has standard and icon displays that can be customized according to the rider’s preferences. Charging can be done at home using a 330-volt off-board charger that features auto-cut technology for safety.
In contrast to the Activa E’s TFT screen, the QC1 has a 5.0-inch all-info LCD display. It also includes 26 liters of under-seat storage and a USB Type-C outlet. Both the Activa E and QC1 will be produced at Honda’s Narasapura plant near Bengaluru, Karnataka. They come with a 3-year warranty covering 50,000 km and three years of free service, along with complimentary roadside assistance for the first year.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s Managing Director and CEO, Tsutsumu Otani, stated, “The launch of the Activa E and QC1 aligns with Honda’s global ‘Triple Action to Zero’ initiative aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, focusing on carbon neutrality, sustainable energy, and governance. With our EV roadmap now in its ninth phase, HMSI is establishing one of the best EV ecosystems in India, demonstrating our commitment.”
Regarding Honda’s new swappable battery technology, the Activa E’s battery can be exchanged at designated Honda Power Pack Exchange stations, which are set to be established in various cities.
Honda has already initiated this service in Bengaluru and Delhi, with plans to expand to Mumbai soon. “With the Activa E’s swappable battery technology and the QC1’s fixed battery setup, combined with an industry-leading hassle-free ownership experience, we are confident in meeting our customers’ diverse expectations,” said Madhur, Sales and Marketing Director at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
